The Dutch Association of Financing Advisers and Mediators (NVF) is an association whose aim is to promote the professional practice in general and to promote the interests of its members, in particular in the field of professional advice and / or mediation in consumer credit, partly with a view to government supervision to be exercised over members. The association was founded in 1976 and currently represents more than 60% of the total outstanding balance established through credit advisers and intermediaries.
Advice and / or mediation in consumer credit is only permitted if the relevant financial service provider has a license from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). You can check whether a financial service provider is in possession of this required license on the AFM website.
On the basis of the NVF code of conduct, the Dutch Association of Financing Advisers imposes additional requirements on their members, including requirements that are in the interests of consumers, in your interest. All members of the NVF have signed this Code of Conduct.
Despite all the good concerns of an NVF member, something can still go wrong with the advice and / or brokerage of a loan. If the relevant financial service provider is a member of the NVF, there is a dispute and complaints procedure that describes exactly what you can do in that case.
