Financing breast augmentation: payment in installments or loan?
Cosmetic surgery through plastic surgery is a major expense. If the procedure is medical, it will be performed in hospital and reimbursed by the health insurance company. All non-medical procedures are usually performed in specialist clinics. The costs are for your own account. Logically, you have the desire to change or improve something in your body.
A tummy tuck, facelift, eyelid and nose correction and breast augmentation are the most frequently requested and performed procedures. A breast reduction is almost always for medical reasons and therefore falls outside the category of cosmetic surgery.
After you have decided what you want to change about your body, for example breast augmentation, the next step is to find a good plastic surgeon at an accredited clinic. You can then map out what the costs are for this treatment. How do you arrange financing? Is the amount manageable and can you save for it? Or is it better to finance your breast augmentation via installments or a loan? We list all the facts.
What does a breast augmentation cost?
There is no clear answer to the question of what a breast augmentation costs. The price depends on which clinic you go to and which method you choose. A breast augmentation realized with your own body fat is usually more expensive than an augmentation with the help of implants. Overall the costs will be around € 3,500.
Pay for breast augmentation in installments afterwards
Many clinics offer you the option to pay for the operation afterwards. The same principle as with a kitchen: you buy the kitchen on installment and pay back in installments afterwards. The breast augmentation is performed and you pay the costs back to the clinic in installments until the total bill has been paid. The interest costs for this option are high; often the maximum legally permitted interest of 14% is calculated.
Financing breast augmentation with a loan
Arranging financing yourself outside the clinic is cheaper: you take out a loan for 24 months with an interest rate of 5.8%. This interest is a lot lower than the 14% that you pay in installments afterwards. The interest decreases further with a loan amount from € 10,000; we will then offer you an interest rate from 5.1%. You can therefore choose not only to have a breast augmentation but also another cosmetic procedure that you would also like in the long run. If you take out a loan for both interventions together, you pay a lower interest rate than if you choose to finance both interventions separately.
Personal loan or revolving credit
You can choose from the two loan types: personal loan or revolving credit. If you like security, choose the first loan form. The interest, term and monthly costs are fixed. If you want extra money on hand in addition to financing the breast augmentation, you can opt for revolving credit with a variable interest rate.
Experience of other consumers
Breast augmentation is still a medical procedure, so you want the procedure to be done by an experienced plastic surgeon at a well-regarded clinic. The experience of other clients who have had the same cosmetic procedures done can be a nice addition to your inventory of options.
