A downtown Blacksburg store is introducing a service previously dominated by large chains and department stores.
Gourmet Pantry & Cooking School, a specialty store, is launching an online gift registration program. The Main Street store, which has been in operation for more than 20 years, said it is the first independent retailer in the Blacksburg area to offer such a feature.
Registrations can be made either in store or online. Winners can add items covering the full range of what the shop has to offer – from premium cookware and kitchen gadgets to wines and cheeses, to unique items like handcrafted ceramics.
“The goal is to make everything as convenient as possible,” says Kimberley Boyer of Gourmet Pantry.
Store owner Roya Nazare said she looks forward to adding a service that would make the store more accessible to customers everywhere. The Register is designed to celebrate a variety of occasions, from weddings to holidays to housewarmings.
