Brothers charged with murder of wholesale women in Westmoreland | Messages

Two brothers have been charged in the January shooting of a businesswoman and a customer at their wholesale store in Westmoreland.

Nigel Walters, 21, also known as “Troy,” of Charles Town, St. Mary and Lennox, Bigwoods, Westmoreland, and Nicholas Walters, 24, of Charles Town, were charged with two counts of murder and possession of illegal firearms on Friday .

45-year-old businesswoman Sophia Brown and 58-year-old Bernie Lewis, a farmer and domestic help, both from the Long Hill District, Whitehouse, Westmoreland, were gunned down on Wednesday January 12.

Police reported that Brown was at her store around 2:10 p.m. when the brothers entered the store and posed as customers.

Brown and Lewis supported the men as they opened fire on them.

According to the police, both men then stole cash and food in an unknown amount.

The women were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

On Monday, February 7, both men were positively identified by a witness on CCTV footage taken by the facility that recorded the incident, police said.

On Friday, February 18, both men were charged after question-and-answer sessions.
