Cub joins CitrusAd’s Retail Media Network

Cub Foods unlocks the power of personalized shopping experiences through integration with CitrusAdretail media technology. The tech company will help the Twin Cities grocer deliver innovative advertising capabilities to CPG businesses.

The need for retail media increased as e-commerce sales skyrocketed over the past year, exceeding industry expectations and showing no signs of slowing. Many retailers have since joined together in CitrusAd’s growing e-commerce advertising network. Other grocers that are part of the network are Price Chopper and Wakefern Food Corp. as well as the ultra-fast delivery service Gopuff.

Cub will leverage CitrusAd’s platform to deliver more personalized online shopping experiences based on buyer preferences and purchase history. Cub suppliers will also benefit from technology integration as Cub’s first-party real-time data from its website and loyalty program is combined with CitrusAd’s algorithms to identify buyer preferences and serve relevant sponsored product ads to optimize campaigns and waste advertising to reduce.

The retail media move comes at an opportune time for Cub. The grocer announced last month that it had his Pick-up and delivery experience by working with Capstone logistics to bring groceries and liquor to Minnesota residents. Capstone uses a “MileZero” platform that optimizes route planning and synchronizes deliveries to multiple store customers and also shares delivery details in real time with the grocer and its buyers via a white label app.
