The owners of the newly opened Georgia Wholesale in Hogansville have now settled in the area and plan to stay a while longer.
After moving from their rented Newnan location to the former Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar location on Highway 29 near downtown Hogansville, the company’s owners celebrated the opening with an official cut through and cemented them as members of the Hogansville Ward.
Several members of the community, including Councilor Toni Striblin and Mayor Bill Stankiewicz, attended the family welcome ceremony.
“We are very excited to have you here to fill this space right downtown, and we look forward to a long, successful stay for all of you in Hogansville,” said Stankiewicz.
Georgia Wholesale opened as a “soft opening” in June, said owner Cindi Harris Taylor. So far, the company has received a mix of new and regular customers from the Newnan location.
At roughly 26,000 square feet, the space that Georgia Wholesale occupies is actually larger than the 16,000 square feet that the Newnan owners occupied, Taylor said.
“[The new space] is big, bright and clean, ”said Taylor. “We’re happy to be here and can’t wait to serve the community.”
On the front wall is a huge Piggly Wiggly head, a testament to the building’s history that Taylor refused to paint over.
Georgia Wholesale sells a variety of items at a fraction of the cost in other stores, Taylor said.
The store sells major household items such as kitchen and bathroom sinks, bathtubs, counters, dining and patio sets, floor tiles, ceiling fans, and bedding. In the next few months, Georgia Wholesale will open a nursery on a smaller part of its space and take in more outdoor items like stones.
Georgia Warehouse is currently open every day except Sundays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
