Multi-year extensions with the largest ILECs continue service for companies and authorities; Offer options – no ultimatums

QUINCY, Mass .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a leading provider of communications solutions to businesses and government agencies across North America, has announced the renewal of its existing commercial wholesale agreements with one ILEC through mid-2026 and the other with ILEC through 2024.

Granite, pioneering the “one-stop communications solutions” model, is a leader in helping small businesses and Fortune 100 companies grow and expand. The expanded wholesale agreements will benefit the many companies and government agencies that continue to have needs for legacy TDM services. Some TDM users operate devices or processes – such as radar systems for the FAA, elevator systems, or vault alarms – that are designed to operate with TDM and are difficult to reconfigure or replace. Other TDM users are planning to migrate to IP for specialty lines, but do not currently have the capital or time to organize and implement an IP migration. Still others have rural or other locations where coaxial cable or fiber doesn’t make economic sense and TDM-over-copper continues to provide acceptable service at the right price. Granite recognizes that sometimes companies and government agencies have different schedules in deploying new technology.

“Granite’s longstanding relationships with these ILECs have created tremendous value over the years, especially to our customers, who have entrusted us with critical network connections that drive growth and job creation,” said Rob Hale, President and CEO of Granites. “While IP solutions are clearly the future, we don’t believe that the elimination of proven and cost-saving TDM connections is the right answer for every company in every location. We believe in giving our customers options – not ultimatums. ”

For companies and government agencies looking for next generation technology, Granite has become an industry innovation leader. Earlier this year, Granite completed the acquisition of EPIK, a patented and approved device that supports many of the features and functions that IP devices typically cannot. Granite also offers a number of other POTS replacement products to customers, including cable voice services in partnership with major cable providers, hosted IP solutions, wireless options, and fiber IP services, including those delivered over next generation ILEC networks.
