The trading partnership started with the Koningsdam sailing trip on October 10th and will continue with the newly launched Rotterdam, which is now on its first cruise and will be rolled out to the rest of the fleet in the coming weeks and months.
“We are very excited to begin this journey with such a respected cruise partner,” said Lisa Bauer, President and CEO of Starboard. ‘Our shared passion for bringing guests to new places through moments that matter, serves as the basis of our exciting collaboration. Guests will experience the finest selection of iconic brands, first-at-sea concepts and bespoke retail experiences that fulfill Holland America Line’s promise to discover new cultures and change perspectives through the art of travel. ‘
Premiere at sea
Among the new brands and products coming to market for the first time at sea in Rotterdam is Bjørg, a jewelry brand known for using raw and precious stones in combination with handcrafted metal structures. Accutron watches are the world’s first electronic watches that work with a tuning fork.
And Town Branch, a limited American single malt whiskey from a single barrel with notes of honey, mild malt and toffee, will be exclusively available on board Rotterdam. Each bottle label is “handpicked by Rotterdam” which makes it a collector’s item.
Boutiques and experiences
What Goes Around Comes Around, the largest lifestyle boutique at sea that celebrates vintage luxury, will be available in both Koningsdam and Rotterdam. The socially responsible resale concept offers designer handbags, scarves and accessories from luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and more.
In line with Holland America Line’s support for those serving their country, R. Riveter, previously only available at sea through limited-time experiences, is selling this US-based, mission-driven brand’s bags and accessories in its own boutique present. Military spouses from across the country participate in sewing panels and contribute to the final product.
In the Destination Shop in Shop, passengers discover a wide range of products, from clothing and accessories to local culinary offers, all of which are inspired by the routes of the ships.
And an augmented reality beauty experience enables shoppers to experiment virtually with products such as eye shadow, blush, lipsticks and more on board Rotterdam.
The dedicated and experienced team at Starboard Cruise Services has developed an unparalleled retail program that perfectly matches Holland America Line’s premier cruise experience and the expectations of our guests, “said Natalya Leahy, HAL Group Operations Officer.
Starboard is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy.
