What was it like walking into the store for the first time? Have you incorporated social media friendly design elements?

CHARLI D’AMELIO I don’t think anyone knew what it would look like, but when we talked about what will actually be in the store, [we wanted it to be] functional and super fun but trendy. it’s sick It turned out perfect.

DIXIE D’AMELIO There are absolutely many [social media-friendly] design touches. In the dressing room, the lights change with what you’re wearing [Social Tourist] Sticker in the mirror is upside down when you take a picture.

Everything is very holiday friendly. Are any of you on vacation this summer? Which Social Tourist pieces will you wear?

DIXIE My summer is booked but I plan to wear some of this to tour which will be really fun. Maybe we’re going on vacation…

CHARLI I have no vacation planned!

Since you’ve both worked on each of your projects over the past year, we’re guessing you’re both privy to each other’s secrets. Charli, could you give Dixie a preview of Born Dreamer?

DIXIE I’ve been using it for a year, everyone tells me it smells so good and I wasn’t allowed to say anything.

CHARLI I was at one [coffee shop] and the woman who took my order said, “oh my god, what perfume are you wearing?” I said, “I can’t actually tell you, but I’ll write down the date and the name of where you can get it, but you can’t tell anyone.” It’s the hardest thing to keep these secrets because when someone asks, I feel so bad saying, “I can’t tell you.”

I’ve never had a signature perfume that I wear every day and that was super interesting because nowadays perfume is what I do before I leave or before I see someone and I just feel so taken care of. Since I didn’t have that, I knew something was missing, but I did [didn’t want to] Try a whole bunch. I didn’t know how scents affect everyone based on their body chemistry… I think there’s something so fun about Born Dreamer that it really works for everyone. All my friends I’ve given it to and I talk about it all the time and I could have those conversations – “How does it wear on you?” All my friends are very different so it’s nice to have positive feedback from everyone Listen.

And Dixie, did Charli hear the album first?

DIXIE Charli wasn’t allowed to hear it.

CHARLI Me, Dixie and [her boyfriend] Noah [Beck] had a listening party and she played three seconds of each song. It’s the most annoying thing in the world because I’m like, “Okay, can I hear it?” And she’s like, “Yeah!” And then she closes [the song] out. I can hear the first four bars. I love the album and I’ve obviously seen how hard she’s been working on it for so long so it’s really nice to see it actually getting together and coming out and being able to listen to it on Spotify instead of having to look for it in my phone.

Now that summer has officially started in LA, what are your favorite skincare hacks for the hotter months?

DIXIE Face oil only, this is my go-to every day and night. Whatever comes closest, literally any type of facial oil and I just put it on, that’s the most refreshing feeling for me. I’m very lucky not to have super oily skin, but I do have super dry skin. So I literally put it on my hairline too; this is my go-to place for everything.

CHARLI Skin care was something I was very focused on. I’ve had some skin issues for a while so I’m grooming myself back to health, and rebuilding my skin barrier is something I do a lot, morning, afternoon, night, very much on a schedule.

Any plans to maybe launch a beauty brand?

CHARLI I think everything is possible, but it is currently not in sight. I really want to do the math [it] out.

DIXIE I think I would use makeup remover wipes.

CHARLI I think she should do makeup lazy girl.

DIXIE Lazy makeup would be the best thing ever. Literally take everything off and tattoo it for the day. Now I just had an idea!
