A young girl has been released on bail after being arrested at a Welsh shopping center on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday.
The 17-year-old was arrested along with a 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy after a man was stabbed to death outside Castle Court shopping center in Caerphilly at around 1.25am on Saturday May 14 pending further investigations while the two men were released without charge.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries initially described as “life-threatening”, but Gwent Police issued an update on Sunday and said he was staying at the University Hospital of Wales, where he is currently in stable condition.
The 32-year-old was reportedly walking along Castle Court with a 29-year-old woman from Caerphilly when they were allegedly approached and attacked by a group of people. The man was stabbed and the woman injured in the head.
The 29-year-old woman was also taken to the University Hospital of Wales for treatment but has since been discharged.
Police said they would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 1 a.m. and 1.30 a.m. Saturday morning, or anyone who has information that could help the investigation.
