Telford Shopping Center celebrates its independent retailers during Notoriety Month

This month celebrates independent retailers across the country.

Telford Center joins the celebrations as Victoria James, one of its oldest independent retailers, celebrates its 10th anniversary at the site.

This weekend Victoria James is celebrating 10 years at the Telford Center with Prosecco, chocolates and prizes to be won.

The store started as a small merchandising unit in the center’s main shopping mall selling unique gifts and high quality home accessories and grew into its first retail unit within three months of opening with the help and support of the center management team.

Michael Haines, owner of Victoria James, said, “The Telford Center has been extremely supportive over the years.

“After two years trading our first retail unit, we moved to a larger unit where we still exist today.

“Covid-19 has had a huge impact on our business, but we have grown stronger and continue to do well.

“We are very grateful for the support from our landlords and center management as we continue to expand our brand and diversify if necessary.

“We also recognize the importance of exceptional customer service, which we have seen as key to our retail success.”

Katie Broome, Marketing Manager at Telford Center, said: “We have worked closely with Victoria James over the years and it has been a pleasure to see her business flourish.

“Their unique assortment is very attractive to customers.” Victoria James’ team has also provided their unique insight and skills to run events at the center, including the Artisan Food Market, Telford Wedding Exhibition and, more recently, the Something Different Store. is home to other local independent companies. “

Building on the demand for bespoke ranges and unique and artisanal products, the Telford Center opened two more units, Something Different and The Season, showcasing a variety of independent companies with a range of different products.

Eliza Bond, an independent retailer at Something Different, said, “The Eliza Bond boutique opened in Something Different last August.

“With all of our outdoor events and shows being canceled, we struggled to work until we had the opportunity to take a unit on Something Different.

“With hard work we’ve built an amazing following at Telford Center and grown our unit, it’s definitely been a success for us.”

Amanda Freeman, an independent retailer at The Season added, “We love trading here and when the pandemic broke out we were very fortunate to have the Telford Center support to keep our businesses afloat and our customers alike To provide the service we’ve always offered.
