What is open and closed on July 4th?

Many will celebrate the federal holiday with fireworks and barbecues, and most workplaces across the country will be closed.

July 4th is a public holiday, so most banks across the country will be closed. However, online banking services and ATMs are available.

The stock market also has a day off as it will be dark on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.

Most major grocery stores and retailers are open on Mondays. Walmart (WMT) and target (TGT) will be open on Monday, for example, as will Kroger and Publix grocery stores.
Especially wholesalers Costco (COSTS) closed on July 4th. Trader Joe’s stores open at regular hours, which vary by store, and close at 5pm on Mondays.

If you want to shop at a specific store, it’s best to check with local retailers before heading out.

mail department

The US Postal Service is closed Monday and will not deliver regular mail or packages.

UPS stores will also remain closed on Monday and there will be no pickup or delivery services. However, UPS Express Critical is available by phone at 1-800-714-8779 or on the website website.

FedEx Express, Ground and Home Delivery services are also closed on Monday. However, the company will operate its critical services.

government offices

All non-essential government offices such as the DMV or the public library will remain closed on Monday. These include local, state and federal authorities.
