The country’s largest private lender, HDFC Bank, which will merge with mortgage lender HDFC, has asked regulators to maintain the glide path to meet cash reserve ratios and the statutory liquidity ratio. Srinivasan Vaidyanathan, Chief Financial Officer of HDFC Bank, says in an interview with Manojit Saha that the glide path will allow the bank to continue supporting the economy by making funds available for lending rather than staying in reserves.
